Yes you do – earlybird weekend tickets booked before 28th February 2010 are £95, and before 30th June are £105 – so book your tickets now so you don’t pay the full price of £115.

Does my child need a ticket?

Children aged 9 and under get in free and do not require a ticket. Children aged 10-15 will need a child’s ticket, which is half the price of an adult ticket. 16 and over need a full price ticket.

Will children be admitted on their own?

No – all children under 16 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note that to ensure children are accompanied we do not sell individual child tickets; they have to be sold with adult tickets.

I’ve bought a ticket but I haven’t received it. What should I do?

If you order your ticket online you will not receive a physical ticket; your email confirmation is your ticket – please print it and bring it with you as it contains your unique reference number.
If you order your ticket by phone/ credit card or by post/ cheque we will send your tickets out in June 2010

I’ve bought tickets but can no longer come to the festival, can I get a refund?

Sorry, no refunds are offered for tickets that cannot be used. However, we suggest that you try to resell your ticket to a friend or look at whether your credit card covers any insurance.

I’ve lost my tickets – what do I do?

We do not replace lost tickets – keep them somewhere safe

How will I know if tickets are available on the day?

We are not able to provide up to the minute information on ticket availability. To avoid being disappointed on arrival it’s advisable to purchase your tickets beforehand – especially since we’ve sold out for the past 3 years running.

Camping

Can I camp at the festival without a ticket?

No – camping is included in the price of the ticket therefore you must have a valid festival ticket or wristband to access the campsite.

When can I arrive to camp and when do I have to leave?

You can arrive at the festival site from 12.00 Wed 21st July and must vacate your pitch by 17.00 Monday 26th July 2010.

Can I camp if I’m only coming for one day?

There is a designated area for day campers. You will only be able to stay for the night of your ticket and you will be asked to leave the site by 12pm the following day.

Can I bring a caravan or motorhome?

Yes you can. We have a designated flat area especially for caravans and motorhomes. Unlike most festivals we do not charge an additional fee for caravans and motorhomes.

Can my friends pitch up a tent next to my motorhome?

Yes, with a maximum of two tents per motorhome.

Once I’ve arrived for the weekend, can I take my car off the campsite?

Unless you notify the parking stewards on arrival that you wish to be able to leave the site over the course of the weekend, your car will have to remain in the car park, so as to reduce traffic movement on the site.

Can I use a barbecue on the campsite?

We allow small, self-contained barbecues on the campsite, though festival stewards will ask you to extinguish any barbecues deemed too large or a hazard to fellow campers. We do not allow open fires or disposable barbecues.

Is there a quieter area for me to camp?

Yes, we offer quieter areas – just ask when you arrive. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that your neighbours will be quieter in these areas, but our stewards and security will politely ask them to.

Is there a suitable camping area for groups of younger people?

Yes, we appreciate that some younger festival goers will want to party later at night than other campers, so we do have a designated area to try to keep the late night noise away from quieter areas.

Travel

How do I get to the festival?

The site is easily accessible by road, and is clearly signposted from Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon (see Location). However, why not reduce your carbon footprint? Arrange to liftshare with other Trowbridge goers around the country (see http://freewheelers.co.uk/Trowbridge_Village_Pump_Festival), or get a train or bus to Trowbridge train station, and our free festival bus will be available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to take you right to the site. Return bus to the stations will be provided on Sunday and Monday.

How often will the free bus run?

There will be a bus every hour on the hour at Trowbridge train station Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 12pm and 6pm.

Welfare

What facilities does Trowbridge Festival provide for less able people?

Parking – There is parking available right next to the main festival entrance if you have a blue badge
Camping – We provide a designated disabled camping area, close to the main entrance
Toilets and showers – We provide disabled toilets and showers
Viewing platform – we provide a wheelchair friendly viewing platform, easily accessible via a ramp.

Do carers of disabled festival goers have to pay?

No – if a festival goer requires assistance for a mobility or vision impairment disability, then apply by post with a copy of your blue badge or DWP certificate of disability and we will provide one free ticket for your carer.

Alcohol

Can I take alcohol to the festival?

You are allowed to bring a reasonable amount of your own alcohol on to the campsite, but we do not allow any glass or cans into the festival arenas. Large amounts of alcohol and alcohol for resale on the campsite is not allowed.

How does the festival prevent underage drinking?

On obtaining your wristband, anyone who looks under the age of 21 will be asked to provide photographic identification of age (passport or driving licence), and if they are 18 or over will be given an Over 18 wristband that allows them to be served at any of our Wadworths bars. Stewards will also be patrolling the festival site, and can seize alcohol from anyone who appears to be underage. Our bar staff are still entitled to challenge anyone appearing underage even with an Over 18 wristband so please be prepared to provide identification of age.

Can I smoke at the festival?

Smoking is not permitted in any of the marquees, or any of the bars.

Will medical care be available during the festival?

Yes, we have a team of paramedics and first aiders from St Johns Ambulance on site, and an on call team of doctors.

Can I bring my pet to the festival?

We’re afraid we do not let animals onto either the campsite or the main festival arenas, with the exception of assistance dogs. Please do not bring an animal with you and leave it in your car as the RSPCA will be contacted and will intervene to ensure the animal’s welfare

Facilities

I don’t like the idea of festival toilets – what are yours like?

Well ladies and gents, we now provide trailers of proper flushing toilets with paper, handbasins and driers. Last year there was hardly a queue and we did not have a single complaint about the toilets – quite the opposite. We had loads of compliments on how clean they were kept and how many there were.

Is there a cashpoint on site?

We have cashpoints available onsite; you will be charged a fee per transaction by the cash provider.

Is there a general store on site?

Yes, there will be a general store.

Are there showers on site?

Yes there are, both on the campsite and within the festival arena.

Keeping children safe

Do you provide a crèche?

No – the care of children is always the responsibility of the parents/ guardians.

How do ensure our children are safe?

To be licensed to run an event of this size requires us to provide a wide range and large number of processes to protect children. These include providing CRB checked stewards and security staff in family areas and the campsite.

Can our children swim/ paddle in the river?

Even though this site contains an ancient river swimming club, our licence precludes us allowing swimming or paddling in the river for two main reasons – first, there are many deep parts to the river and, second, the land that drains into the river upstream can contain agrichemicals making the chemical levels of the river unsafe for swimming. As we do not allow swimming we do not provide life guards.

Sustainability

Are there recycling facilities at the festival?

All rubbish goes into big skips that are taken to be sorted and recycled after the festival at Green’s Recycling. Last year over 90% of the rubbish collected at the festival was recycled. (Tonnage)
